Most road marathons are organised in cities, which is great for crowds, but would you rather run by towering skyscrapers or massive mountains?

Held since 1982, this is a demanding and impressive route, surely the UK’s most scenic road race, encircling Snowdon. It includes three major climbs and a downhill finish into Llanberis and has a reputation for warm encouragement from locals who cheer runners in surprising numbers.
