Capsaicin Protects Liver Cells

Capsaicin, the chemical that makes chili peppers hot, encourages weight loss and reduces fat deposition by increasing the most important proteins in fat cells. It may also protect liver cells from fibrosis.

A study from Belgium on mice discovered that supplementing their diets with capsaicin prevented liver cell fibrosis following closure of their bile ducts. In other words, capsaicin supplements may protect liver function.
