Climb the Troll’s Tongue

Climb the Troll's Tongue

In a game of European mountain Top Trumps, you’d have to explore the Alps and Pyrenees long and hard to discover a summit as striking as the Troll’s Tongue in Odda, Norway.

Troll’s Tongue is without doubt one of the world’s most amazing mountain tops, and it’s walkable without mountaineering skills. The 10-hour hike climbs 1,000m, so it’s not for the faint-hearted, but for such a breath-taking view, Troll’s Tongue deserves its place on the bucket list of all outdoor adventure enthusiasts.

The mountain represents one of three most stunning peaks in Norway, alongside Pulpit Rock and Kjerag, that are now connected by a daily express bus service in July and August, so in three days it’s possible to climb all three summits.

Kjeragbolten is a small stone wedged between two rocks overlooking Lysefjord, while Pulpit Rock, also on Lysefjord, is one of Norway’s top tourist destinations, drawing 250,000 visitors last year.
