It reveals the average distances, times, speeds and elevation gained, for both women and men. It also gives information on the impact of the season and the weather conditions on training patterns.

The research is based on information uploaded to Strava, the online network that connects athletes, allowing them to track and share their fitness efforts and compete ‘virtually’ over segments, where Strava runs leader boards of the best times.
