Cycling Battle on the Beach

The beach race course has been designed for mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes and even fat bikes.

Battle on the Beach is held on Pembrey Sands near Llanelli in South Wales, and includes a loop circuit across the beach, dunes and wooded single track.

So the route isn’t like a Dutch-style out-and-back route along the sand. Britain’s first beach race got off to a flying start in 2014 as the 300 places were sold out within three days. The course has been designed to be ridable by mountain bikes, cyclo-cross bikes and even fat bikes with their large tyres for floating over the sand. For this reason, each different type of a bike has its own stretch of the course where it does its best.

The beach race takes place in 22 March 2015 in Pembrey Country Park, South Wales. Expect to be cycling for between 90 minutes and two hours.
