Fight PTSD With Exercise

Research at the University of Texas has showed that regular exercise helps relieve symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

A new study, published in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, divided nine participants into two groups: Exercise + Therapy and Therapy-only.

Those in the exercise group were discovered to have increased levels of the protein brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which helps the brain adapt to stressors and repair itself, while levels of the protein in the therapy-only group didn’t change.
