Top UK MTB Trails: Bowderdale

Bowderdale, Howgill Fells

Bowderdale, Howgill Fells

A contender for the very best singletrack in England, if not the entire UK; and among some amazing scenery too. It’s also the ideal escape from the Lake District if the crowds get too much.

However, there’s a catch to this one: regardless of how you ride, it will include a big hike-a-bike to get to. But pain, sweat, tears, even breathlessness, will be forgotten once you hit the narrow stuff, and only exhaustion will stop you going up for another go.
