Top UK MTB Trails: The Gap Road

The Gap Road, Brecon

The Gap Road, Brecon Beacons

The ‘Gap Road’ is a historical road that stretches across an atmospheric 600m high pass between the highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons.

It’s normally tackled south to north, which provides a steady but doable climb followed by a thrilling, yet never too spicy, descent through some quite amazing mountain scenery. It can be linked with the Taff Trail to make a shorter version, the Bryn Ore Tramroad and Pontsticill for a full day epic.
