UK’s Top Hill Walks: Edale Circuit

Edale Circuit

Edale Circuit, Peak District

10 miles/6 hours

Don’t think about all those murky DofE memories and forget the dour rock climbers who bang on about ‘gritstone.’ The Peak District is about contrasts, and this stroll is a neat lasso round both aspects of what makes this area so enjoyable. Nibbling the edge of the flat and peat-drowned Kinder Scout for half the day and tackling the shapelier Mam Tor the other, the nucleus of this route is the beautiful village of Edale, with good public transport links and a great pub.
