Not the borderline psychotic 24-hour challenge – regardless of its masochistic charm – but a more leisurely walk over the 15 mountains in Wales that sit above the 3,000ft contour line. Three days is the perfect time to split it, given as the course from the bulky Snowdon range, over the prickly Glyders and up on to the rounded northern peaks of the Carneddau naturally dips twice into accommodation-harbouring valleys at Pen y Pass and the Ogwen Valley.
