One of the best triathletes in the world, Chris McCormack, won the inaugural event in 2006, saying that it was the toughest half Ironman he’d ever did. Macca’s comments were first directed at the bike leg that’s seemingly ambushed by every hill on Exmoor. The half-marathon to the finish doesn’t let up, either, off-road undulations guaranteeing those calf-burning hydrogen ions will be challenging you to stop with every stride.
