1.5km swim, 42km bike, 10km run
This year, the 25th edition of the UK’s flagship event is hosted by the Queen’s backyard. The competition starts with an upstream Thames swim, followed by enjoying the downstream current to T1. And there’s a dramatic transition set in Alexandra Gardens. On to the semi-closed-road bike, whose flatness has ‘personal best’ chalked all over it. But it’s the run that is most exciting, huge crowds encouraging competitors for the triple ascent to Windsor Castle. Windsor also usually doubles as the Elite National Championships.
