A recent study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) examined data on vitamin D status, health and mortality collected from over 849,000 people. It discovered that higher levels of vitamin D in the body decrease the risk of early death from diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

In addition, the researchers discovered that supplementation with vitamin D3 immensely reduced overall mortality among older adults. There’s also growing evidence that optimum levels of vitamin D can help prevent flu, coughs, and colds during winter months.
