Weight Loss Closely Linked To Blood Glucose Levels

If you are trying to lose weight, it’s not just about counting calories. It may be even more important that you eat foods that stabilize your blood glucose levels.

Stabilizing the amount of sugar in your blood can help you to avoid cravings and consequently reduce the temptation to overeat. To stabilize blood glucose levels, consume small regular meals, decrease the intake of high GI foods (such as white bread, cornflakes, and white rice) and eat foods rich in lean protein (such as chicken or fish) with each meal. This will help to slow down the release of glucose to the blood.

It’s also very helpful if you reduce the overall fat content of your diet, especially saturated fats (foods such as red meat, pork, cheese, and cream) which are linked to a reduced insulin response in the body.
