Why Does HIIT Work?

why does hiit work

Fitness trainers have to know their stuff and you are probably well aware of the power of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). You can get more out of your workout in less time, and the results are fast and amazing. Why does HIIT work?

Recently Swedish researchers have given us another reason to love HIIT… the reason it works! They found that small levels of intensive workout promote the production of mitochondria. Do you remember these little powerhouses in your cells? Increase the number of mitochondria and you get increased endurance! Even only 3-minute HIIT session has been shown to alter how the cells handle calcium, which has a positive effect on muscle contraction.
