- 125 g soft butter
- 4 eggs
- 250 g spelt flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 350 ml buttermilk
- 50 g sugar
- pinch of salt
- sugar and cinnamon or fruit quark to serve
- butter for the waffles iron
- Whisk together the butter and eggs until fluffy. Mix the spelt flour and baking powder and slowly add to the eggs, stirring and alternating with the buttermilk. Stir the sugar and a pinch of salt into the mixture and heat the waffle iron.
- Butter the waffle iron and use the mixture to cook golden waffles. Keep warm in the oven if needed. Serve with sugar and cinnamon or fruit quark.
