Chicory rolls with cheese sauce


Preparation time: cca. 15 minutes (plus cooking time)
Per portion cca. 367 kcal / 1541 kJ
22 g P, 24 g F, 10 g CH


  • 4 heads of chicory 
  • 8 slices butter cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 300 g yoghurt
  • 8 tbsp white wine
  • 1 orange
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cayenne pepper
  • nutmeg
  • ½ bunch freshly chopped herbs
  • 60 g Parmesan cheese
  • oil for the dish


  1. Wash, dry and trim the chicory and remove the bitter core. Halve the chicory and wrap in the butter cheese. Put in a greased gratin dish.
  2. Pre-heat the oven to 190 °C (Gas Mark 5). Peel and finely chop the onion and mix with the yoghurt, wine and segmented and diced orange. Season the cream with spices and herbs to taste. Pour over the chicory in the dish. Grate the Parmesan cheese and sprinkle over the vegetables. Bake in the oven for cca. 15 minutes.
